Champion holding community garage sale

Champion Township is holding a COMMUNITY WIDE GARAGE SALE Thursday through Saturday. The event will allow residents throughout the township to hold free garage sales. Organizers plan to make this an annual event similar to neighboring communities. For more information, call the zoning department at 330-847-6117.



Shepherd of the Valley, 1500 McKinley Ave., Niles, is holding NATIONAL NURSING HOME WEEK with the theme ‘‘Going Hollywood.’’ Scheduled events are an Oscar bingo with a mystery caller at 2:30 p.m. today, a magic show at 10 a.m. and bingo with mystery caller at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and an Oscar awards ceremony at 2 p.m. Friday. Activities planned at the Shepherd of the Valley, 4100 North River Road, Howland, are ‘‘I Am a Star’’ photo shoot at 3:30 p.m. today, magic show at 7 p.m. Wednesday, beauty makeovers at 9:45 a.m. and wine and cheese party on the patio at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Writers group provides ‘spontaneous’ support
