Trumbull County Woman Spring

Introduction

March 28, 2008

Congratulations to the Warren Civic League. It is celebrating their 50th anniversary. Fifty years of working for a common cause is a long time. Its story begins on page 4.

The current trend is to drink green tea. Many manufacturers have got on the bandwagon and you can find it everywhere. Diet, sweetened, with or without citrus, some has a raspberry flavor while others are pumped up with ginseng. All it takes is a tea bag with a cup of hot water — ice if you prefer it that way. But keep in mind all those flavors and sweeteners pretty much void out the benefits of the green tea. Keep it simple, the story is on page 23.

Do you know your “Important Number?” It’s your cholesterol number. I found out what mine was in December, and it was high enough that my doctor said “Yipes!” I am now on the goat- and bird-food diet. I’ve managed to lose some weight. I have replaced my evening ice cream with a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios®.
