What's even more unbelievable is the accused rapists' attorney saying they could never get a fair trial due to everyone being prejudiced by the video. Those punks need the book thrown at them.

I've always been the first to say that a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty, but that tape sure does say it all. If I was the girl's father, I'd be inclined to go a little nuts and maybe end up in jail myself.

Rape is rape. These two perverts deserve a long stay in prison for what they did. Their using social media to attack the rape victim should add to their sentence.

If one thing is clear from the video it's that the boys who commited, witnessed, or heard about the rape found it funny. Dubbing themselves the “rape crew,” they certainly understood that what happened was, indeed, rape. To the dismay of many, most of them appear to have gotten away with participating, watching, or disseminating pictures of the attack. Some locals have said that the lack of punishment is linked to the boys’ football celebrity in an increasingly poor town.

At the very least, the case is a disturbing reflection of America’s rape culture. But it’s also an interesting glimpse into social media, and how it can not only implicate people in a crime, but also be used to hold them accountable when the justice system has not. Should Anonymous be correct that there was a subpar investigation of the alleged rape, social media has allowed Americans outside of the town to rally for the victim and demand justice. So,no republicans made that statement familyguy....quote from republican Todd Akin of Missouri..."From what I understand from doctors, that's really rare,” he replied. “If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down." As parents and grandparents, we have to recognize that there is an underlying dark sickness in our youth culture that is sucking in more kids daily.

We need to be parents - not "buddies" and monitor the video games, the music, the movies, the electronic communications and the "friends" our kids have.

This means spending TIME with our kids and sharing - not preaching or demanding - our core values and core beliefs.

Talk WITH our kids, not talk down to them.

If we don't take time with our kids, some other kid with no family values will. Guaranteed.

And someday it could one of us tragically wondering how could have MY kid have done THAT?
