Zippy the structure of the building was in bad shape. Part of the foundation was sinking and the building was unstable. The church had been empty for a number of years for that reason. The structure would cost more to repair than it was worth. This has been reported over the past two years.

demolishing a beautiful historic church, easily used as sacred space for students, just to get a better view of Jones Hall! Why stop there? Demolish the public library, St. John's Church and the art museum as well. Idiots run YSU.
