She was born March 18, 1932, in Warren, a daughter of Andrew and Frances Fazio Basile.
She was a 1950 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and sang in the a cappella choir.
She retired from General Electric Trumbull Lamp Division after 39 1/2 years, where she was a coil inspector. She was a member of St. Pius X Church and enjoyed shopping, cooking, decorating her home, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Richard A. ‘‘Dick’’ Ovacek, whom she married July 25, 1986; a son, Larry G. (Monica J.) Zackeroff in Youngstown; a daughter, Frances K. ‘‘Toots’’ (Michael) Moldovan of Cortland; four stepchildren, Kay Rossman of Bedford, Robert Ovacek of Macedonia, Ellen Princic of Stow and Thomas Ovacek of Toledo; a brother, Rosario Basile of Warren; and five grandchildren, Matthew J. and Tess V. Zackeroff and Maria, Nicole and Elaine Moldovan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Joseph G., Pat and Tony Basile; and a sister, Mary Anna Basile.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday morning at the funeral home, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Howland Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Taylor Nelson Benefit Fund for her cancer treatment, 4499 Belmont Ave., Youngstown 44505.
