Thomas E. Rakijasic Sr. 1938-2008

He was born Feb. 26, 1948, in Warren, the son of the late Frank and Anna Guzan Rakijasic Sr.
Thomas worked for Republic Steel, and later became a police officer in Champion. Thomas also worked for the American Red Cross national disaster teams from tornadoes here in Warren to Hurricane Hugo, and the earthquakes in California with a long list of many more. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Girard Aerie 4071 and the Girard Army Navy Union Garrrison 422.
In 1989 Thomas was diagnosed with cancer, and has been fighting this for 18 years.
Thomas is survived by three sons, Thomas Rakijasic Jr., Wayne Eric Rakijasic and Daniel and wife, Andrea, Rakijasic, all of Florida; seven grandchildren, Shelby and Craig, Michelle, Melissa and Leah, and Julian and Celina; and two sisters, Mary Jane Japuncha of Warren and Diane (Paul) Cichowicz of Monmouth Junction, N.J. He also leaves several nieces, nephew and cousins.
His parents and a brother, Frank Rakijasic Jr., preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles W. Crumbley officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
