Jack was born May 10, 1932, in Pleasant City/Senecaville, the son of John and Delores Snide Moorehead.
He was a 1950 graduate of Newton Falls High School. After graduation, Jack served in the Marine Corps. He was last employed as a maintenance supervisor at Denman Tire, retiring in 1994.
Jack was a past Master of Masonic Lodge 462 in Newton Falls. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, Canadian fishing trips, cutting the grass and having coffee at McDonald’s with his buddies Fritz and Bill.
He was a caring husband to Patricia Holko Moorehead, whom he married Sept. 20, 1958; and father of sons, Jack S. (Suzanne) of Westerville and Thomas A. (Annette) Moorehead of Newton Falls; and daughters, Lori (John) Klatt of Aurora, Ill., and Ann Laurenzi of Avon.
He leaves behind his adored granddaughters, Jennifer (Christopher) Trackler of Dublin and Pamela Moorehead of Salt Lake City. His granddaughters lovingly called him ‘‘Grand Jack.’’ Jack was a great-grandfather to newborn, Aryn Trackler.
He also leaves behind his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barb and Lynn Thomas of Newton Falls, and his mother-in-law Helen Holko. Jack was an adored uncle to Bethany, Alan, Brady and Ruby West, and Andrea, Chris and Libby Berg, all of Dublin.
He leaves behind his sister, Joanne Eshlemen of Zanesville; and his favorite aunt, Margie and Uncle Bill Jedel of Navarre; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins in that area.
Preceding Jack in death were his parents and father-in-law, Steve Holko.
Masonic services will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at James Funeral Home, followed by calling hours from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4214 Market St., P.O. Box 3383, Youngstown 44513 or to the Newton Falls Public Library, 204 S. Canal, Newton Falls 44444.
