HOWLAND SCHOOLS RETIREES will meet at 11 a.m. Sept. 7 at Enzo's. All retired Howland schools personnel, classified and non-classified, are welcome to attend the monthly lunch meetings. Spouses and guests are also welcome. Cost of the lunch, payable at the door, is $10. The group is collecting items for Beatitude House and Emmanuel House (Girard) at the meetings. School supplies, non-perishable food, household cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items are needed. Those attending are encouraged to bring an item. THE TRUMBULL SENIOR PRODUCTION COMPANY has tickets on sale now for the upcoming show at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 and at 2 p.m. Sept. 12 at Lakeview High School in Cortland. The show is under the direction of Jason Burgermyer and has a cast of about 70 people.

TRUMBULL MOBILE MEALS is accepting nominations for the "Road to Success Crew." This can be any individual, business or organization that assisted in the development and growth of TMM over the past 40 years. A committee will select 84 crew members from the nominees. The number 84 comes from the $84,000 the group is attempting to raise through the Miles and Miles for Meals campaign. Nomination forms can be obtained at the TMM office, 323 E. COPELAND OAKS has recently implemented a different style of food service for residents in assisted living, and these changes are expected to take effect at Crandall Medical Center next year. It is known as decentralized feeding.
It is a move away from using trays in institutionalized feeding and allows for higher quality food and varied food choices, as well as providing an outlet in which residents can socialize as they eat instead of sitting in their apartments or rooms and eating alone. Residents go to the kitchen for all three meals, and receive their food immediately after it is prepared, ensuring that their meal is hot and fresh.
Decentralized feeding also allows residents to have more control over their food choices and when they would like to eat their meals.
The hope is to see this program fully implemented by the end of 2011.
