Joseph V. Potts 1923-2012

WARREN - Joseph V. Potts, 88, of Warren, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center.

He was born Dec. 3, 1923, in Belington, W.Va., the son of the late John B. Potts and the late Martha Belle Yoakum Potts.

He married Marjorie Spencer Potts on Sept. 15, 1947.

He was a 1943 graduate of Belington High School, and was employed as a group leader at ITT Grinnell for 32 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II.

Joseph was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

He was member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union 696 and SCOPE. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, camping and traveling.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Marjorie Potts of Warren; his daughter, Sandra (Andrew) Balas of Warren; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church, where Pastor Glenn Hamilton will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church.

Interment will be in Meadow Brook Memorial Park, Warren.

The Carl W. Hall Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
