McDONALD - Byron Hartford Mollenkopf Leonhart, 88, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Briarfield at the Ridge Care Center.
Byron was born June 22, 1924, in Crawford County, the son of Gerald and Maude Mollenkopf Leonhart.
He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Byron retired in 1986 after 27 years of service from the McDonald School System as head custodian.
He was a member of Woodland Park United Methodist Church.
Byron leaves three children, Sherry Rea of Girard, Marie Dobecka of Hawkins, Texas, and Ronald Leonhart of Canton, Texas; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Lois A. Totten; a sister, five brothers; and infant twins Ronald and Donald Leonhart.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes Mineral Ridge Chapel where services will start at 11 a.m. with military honors to follow.
