LORDSTOWN - The 28th annual Lordstown Apple Cider Festival will feature a parade, rides, games and entertainment.
The event kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday on the grounds by Lordstown Elementary School off Salt Springs Road and will continue Saturday and Sunday. Festival hours with the midway rides by Lisko Amusement are 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Among the events will be contests for photo, fine arts, domestic arts and culinary arts.
FRIDAY:
4 to 7 p.m. - Chicken dinner hosted by Lordstown Christian Church, high school
8 p.m. - Apple Cider King and Queen Pageant, entertainment tent
SATURDAY:
All-day ride specials
Noon to 3 p.m. - Free blood pressure and eye screening
Noon to 3 p.m. - Car show
Noon to 8 p.m. - Craft, quilt and culinary arts show
2 p.m. - Little Prince and Princess Contest
2 to 7 p.m. - Bingo
4 to 7 p.m. -
Lordstown Athletic Boosters spaghetti dinner, high school;
6 to 7 p.m. - Momentum dance
7 to 9 p.m. - Raising Change
10 p.m. - Fireworks by Zambelli
SUNDAY:
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Pancake brunch sponsored by the Lordstown Soccer League, high school
10 a.m. - 5K race
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. - craft, quilt, flower show and other exhibits
2 to 7 p.m. - Bingo
3 p.m. - Parade with grand marshal retired teacher / coach John Phillips
4 to 7 p.m. - Minute to Win II
Also, the Fabric Patchers Quilt Guild will hold its annual quilt show during the festival. Quilts will be judged and ribbons awarded. For individuals wanting to enter a quilt, registration will be at the Lordstown Recreation building from noon to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Registration fee is $5.
