TASTE OF HUBBARD MARKS FIFTH YEAR: The fifth annual Taste of Hubbard will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Kyle Pavilion at Harding Park. Food from local businesses will be available for 50 cents a taste.
The event will include restored antique cars, handcrafted items by area vendors, and various performances on the bandstand.
It begins at noon with the food tasting until 3 p.m. Artisans and crafters will be showing their talents from noon to 5 p.m. There will be Chinese auction and baked sale.
The event is sponsored by the Harding Park Meeting House Building Committee, which is a joint effort by members of Hubbard Rotary, Hubbard CARES and the Harding Park Board. Proceeds will benefit the reconstruction of the historic 1857 Presbyterian Church on its new site at the entrance to Harding Park.
Currently under construction is the pergola, which is expected to be available for rentals next spring, as well as the completely restored original bell tower of the church.
BOOK SIGNING FOR LOCAL AUTHOR: Silver and Slate, located inside Just Pizzelles, 204 W. Main St., Cortland, will host a book signing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for Cortland resident Sally Lane who launched her new book ''Cortland and Bazetta Township.'' Books will be available for sale at the shop,
READ TO A PUP: The monthly ''Pups and Pages'' program will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Howland Library Branch. Children can gain confidence and improve their reading skills as they read to an uncritical audience of dogs provide by K-9s for Compassion, a Delta Society pet partner group that assists with animal-assisted activity and animal-assisted therapy. The program is for children in grades kindergarten to sixth grade.
