WARREN - Edna C. Kreps, 96, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at her home following a long illness.
She was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Sioux Creek, Wis., the daughter of the late Clarence Smith and the late Cora Bell Nethkin Smith.
She married Wayne Kwallek Sr. in 1934, and he preceded her in death in 1956.
Edna married Francis J. Kreps in Kinsman on Aug. 20, 1960, and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage together. They enjoyed traveling and spent 10 winters together in Florida.
She welded on submarine tenders in Bellevue, Wash., during World War II, and was also employed by several companies, including Westinghouse, Copperweld and Morgan Lumber.
She was a member of Champion Christian Church.
She was very active in politics within her area, whether by driving people to the polls or campaigning for local candidates.
She was very talented and liked to do ceramics, painting and embroidery. She made afghans for her children and grandchildren.
She leaves behind her husband, Francis J. Kreps, her three sons, Wayne (Mary Ruth) Kwallek Jr. of Southington, Vollne (Nancy) Kwallek of Austin, Texas, and Leslie (Ingrid) Kwallek of Creston, Ohio. She will be missed by her five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne W. Kwallek, three sisters and four brothers.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where the Rev. Ken Hopkins will officiate.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta.
