NOTE: The following is a list of the top teams in each division of the EOWL compiled by Tribune Chronicle sports writer Joe Simon. The list does not include teams outside of Trumbull and Mahoning counties.
Division I
TEAMTHE SCOOP
1. Howland TigersThe lineup is stacked from top to bottom. If they stay healthy, they might not be challenged in the area.
2. Canfield CardinalsCanfield is one of the deeper teams in the area, which is a huge advantage toward the end of the season.
3. Austintown Fitch FalconsFitch has a lot of unknown wrestlers, making it hard to rank the Falcons, but they'll be much improved.
4. Boardman SpartansBoardman is neck and neck with Fitch and will be a strong team come tournament time.
Divisions II & III
TEAMTHE SCOOP
1. Poland BulldogsThe Bulldogs boast a very impressive lineup with good wrestlers from top to bottom.
2. Liberty LeopardsLiberty should be a great dual-meet team again this year. How they do in tournaments is the big question.
3. Girard IndiansThe loss of a few wrestlers to injuries hurts their chances in dual meets, but they possess several studs.
4. Jackson-Milton Blue JaysJ-M is young and talented, with an excellent sophomore class, but they may be a year away from contending.
5. Brookfield WarriorsThey might only have 11 wrestlers on the roster, but at least 75 percent of them are tough, mean and nasty.
6. Hubbard EaglesHubbard is on the upswing, with strong underclassmen, but they're going to suffer through some growing pains.
