WARREN - Mary E. Gibson, 84, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Springfield, Ohio, on May 22, 1928, the daughter of the Rev. Charles and Lillian Fanning Cassel.
Mary was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, attended Wittenberg College in 1946, and studied art at Youngstown State University. She was a member of Trowel & Hoe Garden Club, Trumbull Country Club, The Art and Drama Club, and served on the board of directors of the Trumbull Art Gallery.

She was the president of MEG Management and board member of Jack Gibson Construction Co..
She appreciated and collected fine art. She was an advocate for animals and loved her many pets dearly. Most of all Mary will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Cherished memories will be carried on by her husband, John C. "Jack" Gibson Sr., whom she married Aug. 28, 1948; her daughter, Linda G. Dorman of Los Angeles; her sons, John C. (Lynn) Gibson Jr. of Warren, Christopher L. (Dee Dee) Gibson of Friendswood, Texas, and daughter Gretchen E. (Richard) McQuown of Blacklick; her brother, Charles Cassel Jr. of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and sister, Helen (Bill) Bain of Cincinnati. Mary is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Monica, Rachael and Michelle Dorman; Jennifer (Chris) Eichorn, John (Sarah) Gibson III, Jason Gibson; Christopher and Sarah Gibson; and Bonnie and Clay McQuown; and four great-grandchildren, Jack, Ian and Luke Gibson and Christopher Eichorn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, George; her son-in-law, Gary Dorman; and a grandson, Ross McQuown.
Family and friends may gather at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Warren, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Ann Marie Winters will officiate.
Inurnment will follow in the Crown Hill Burial Park.
