Library hosts anguage trees

BRISTOL STUDENTS DECORATE LANGUAGE TREES: The fourth annual language trees are on display through Friday at the Bristol Public Library, 1855 Greenville Road. Students in the Spanish classes at Bristol High School have adorned language-themed Christmas trees with decorations they made in class. The library, which is near the school, has showcased the trees in recent years.

BAND TO PERFORM CONCERT: The Girard Community Band will hold a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Eastwood Mall, Niles. The event will be held in the main concourse at the end of the food court at Macy's.

EVENT INCLUDES VISIT FROM SANTA: Austintown Bounce will host a visit from Santa Claus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 4317 Kirk Road in Austintown. Admission is $7 and includes unlimited play, hot dog, small fountain drink, a free snow globe, contests and prizes. Call 330-793-JUMP for information.

TOY GIVEAWAY SET: The Southwest Neighborhood Association will be holding its annual toy giveaway from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, Tod Avenue, Warren, for those families that applied for toys for their children.

ART EVENT FOR CHILDREN: "Art in the Afternoon" will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the main library of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, The session, for children in first to sixth grade, will focus on a different artistic technique or artist's individual style. Registration is required by calling 330-399-8807, Ext. 401.

AGENCY HOLDS ANGEL TREE PROJECT: The Salvation Army, 270 Franklin St. S.E., Warren, is working to help children and families is need this Christmas season through the Angel Tree program. Toys are still needed to help an additional 200 children who need to be helped. Items that are needed are footballs, Barbie dolls, basketballs, board games, hairbrush sets, arts and craft sets, sleds or other toys. To help, call 330-392-1573.
