NEWTON FALLS - Mary A. Ginter, 83, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered into eternal life Friday, Dec. 28, 2012.
Mary was born Feb. 25, 1929, in Newton Falls, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Prelac.
She obtained her formal education in the Newton Falls school system, graduating from Newton Falls High School in 1947.

On Feb. 26, 1949, Mary A. Prelac and Reggie S. Ginter were united in marriage in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Newton Falls.
A lifelong parishioner of St. Mary and St. Joseph Parish, Mary assisted her parish by her membership in the Ladies Guild.
Mary began her employment at Packard Electric in 1956, and after 34 years she retired from her duties as an inspector in 1990.
Through the years, Mary has been a caring, generous and good-hearted person. She often provided transportation to friends that needed to get to medical appointments. Mary enjoyed the friendship that she shared with the members of TOPS. Spending time with family was an important part of Mary's life. One of her favorite pastimes was going to flea markets with her daughters.
Mary was busy in the spring and summer, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. After her canning of the fresh vegetables, the family was able to continue to enjoy the vegetables all year long. While indoors, Mary could be found baking for the family.
Mary developed an interest in planting trees and often planted a variety of trees that were unique to this area.
Memories of Mary will be carried on by her loving family, her son David (Fran) Ginter; her daughters, Regina Griffith and Suzanne (Tony) Sabo; her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brothers, George (Betty) Prelac and Steve (Pauline) Gombos; her sisters, Annie (Bob) Shaw and Regina (Bruce) Maxwell; her sister-in-law, Dolores Prelac; her son-in-law, Larry Durkos; and her nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mary were her husband on April 16, 2012; her daughter, Cynthia; her grandson, Troy Ginter; her parents; her sister, Katie Bocan; and her brother, John Prelac.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Parish in Newton Falls. Mary will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery in Paris Township.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Khaterpaul, All Caring Hospice, Hospice of the Valley and Just Like Home for the care given to Mary.
