YOUNGSTOWN - Barbara Juanita Fletcher Montgomery, 74, died at 1:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 5, 1938, in Youngstown, the daughter of Charles Gilbert and Virginia Ruth Simpson Fletcher.
Mrs. Montgomery retired from Arkway Nursing Center as a caregiver.
Survivors include one son, Shawn L. Fletcher of Youngstown; one daughter, Shelda Rae Newell-McCoctry of Milwaukee; five brothers, Charles G. Fletcher of Milwaukee, Anthony L. Fletcher of Alexandria, Minn., Ronald W. Fletcher of Cleveland, Donald G. Fletcher of Milwaukee and Dennis Simpson of Pennsylvania; four sisters, Carol Fletcher of Youngstown, Gail Anthony of Milwaukee, Evelyn Fletcher of Youngstown and Patricia Green of Warren; 15 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Matthew Montgomery, four brothers and two sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Chapel in Youngstown.
