Boys basketball

McDONALD 61, SOUTH RANGE 54: CANFIELD - South Range kept it close but was unable to upset McDonald.

The game was tied at halftime, and in the fourth quarter, McDonald's Matt Seitz went off for 13 of his 23 points to help put South Range away.

Seitz was the Blue Devils leading scorer and Stephen Politano added 18. Politano and Seitz both hit four 3-pointers in the win. Tyler Beverly led South Range with 28 and Robby Seman added 14 for the Raiders.

Both teams will play at home Friday night. South Range will host Mineral Ridge while McDonald takes on Western Reserve.

Girls basketball

SOUTHEAST 57, EAST CANTON 37: EAST CANTON - Southeast hit the road and was able to get their 11th win of the season.

Southeast led by four points after one quarter and used a 18-8 second quarter run to put the East Canton away.

Southeast was led by Brittany Butcher as she scored 15 points - all of them coming from five 3-pointers. Megan Gothard led East Canton with nine points.

WATERLOO 70, GARFIELD 64, (OT): GARRETTSVILLE - It was a wild win, but Waterloo came out on top against Garfield

Garfield led 21-10 after the first quarter, but Waterloo used a 23-8 run second quarter to led 33-29 at the half. Garfield managed to tie the game and send it in overtime, but was unable to mount a successful comeback.

Jamie Willis led Waterloo as she scored a game high 32 points. Megan Forney added 18 for the Vikings. Garfield's Jackie Tabor dropped 28 and Madisson Geddes scored 13 and dished out six assists.
