WARREN - Zella Carson, 97, formerly of Bakerton, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Windsor House of Champion in Warren.
She was born March 28, 1915, in Bakerton, Pa., the daughter of Ruben and Rose Dowey West.
Zella retired from the housekeeping department at Miners Medical Center after many years of service, and was a member of Bakerton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda W. (Donald) Maurer of Warren; five grandchildren, Wendy, John David, Danny, Don and Stacie; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry West of Clearwater, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Friends will be received Saturday from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service at Bakerton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Linda Lacovic will be officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bakerton United Methodist Church.
