Forrest W. Shaw 1932-2013

AUSTINTOWN - Forrest W. Shaw, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

He was born May 2, 1932, in Mount Clare, W.Va., the son of Delsworth Shaw and Hattie Murphy.

Forrest was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War from 1951 to 1955 as a teletype operator in the Aleutian Islands.

He worked for LTV Steel as an overhead crane operator until his retirement in 1985. Forrest was also employed with Northside Medical Center.

He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed sitting on his porch watching the neighbors. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed by his son Forrest E. Shaw of Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Sherrie Shaw Dunker of Austintown; and three grandchildren, Forrest J., Liam R. and Camryn Shaw.

Forrest was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Berry; a brother, Donald Shaw, and a sister, Jean Dodd.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. Friends will be received from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
