WARREN - Bessie M. Kontos, 90, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Warren, the daughter of Mike and Eugenia Pantelakis.
Bessie was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. She previously worked in the receiving department at Sears in downtown Warren.

She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren.
She married Mike N. Kontos on June 20, 1948. He passed away June 13, 1999.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannie (Ernest) Savopoulos of Warren, and two grandchildren, Michael and John Savopoulos.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Nicholas M. Kontos; a sister, Sophia Kalogeras; and a brother, George N. Pantelakis.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel. They may also call from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High St., Warren, OH 44481.
