YOUNGSTOWN - The woman wounded in a Sunday shooting just off the campus of Youngstown State University has no known connection to the suspect in the shooting.
Chief of Detectives Capt. Mark Milstead said that Brittany Johnson, 23, who is being treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center, is expected to recover after being wounded about 2:50 a.m. as she was in a car with four other people on Pennsylvania Avenue.
The suspect in the shooting, 19-year-old Sylean Wilson of Pittsburgh, had earlier been kicked out of a nearby club after he got drunk and broke a light bulb and tried to get back inside, Milstead.
Johnson and her friends had been at the same club but Milstead said it appears they did not know each other and did not interact in any way at the club.
