WARREN - Dr. Nazir Ahmed, 76, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, in Pittsburgh.
He was born April 20, 1936, in Bangalore, India.
He practiced internal medicine at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
He was a founding member of the Islamic Society of Greater Youngstown and instrumental in the construction of Masjid Al-Khair.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nafees Jahan; two daughters, Yasmeen and Nasreen; a son, Saleem; six siblings, Bashir, Rashid, Khurshid, Shehnaz, Mushtari and Mushtaq; and five grandchildren.
A funeral prayer was held at Masjid Al-Khair. Burial took place in Greenhaven Cemetery in Canfield.
Schiavone Funeral Home in Youngstown handled arrangements.
