QUINCY, Ill. - Carolyn Jean Powell, 77, 617 S. Sixth St., died on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, in her home.
She was born on Aug. 7, 1935, in Hannibal, Mo., the daughter of Everett and Verna Whisman Dufur.
Carolyn was employed at Quincy Holiday Inn and was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Jespersen of Windyville, Mo., Linda Ohlin of Warren, Ed Powell and Diana Elder, both of Quincy; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lavern Ogle of Quincy.
She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
