BROOKFIELD - Joanne V. Brown, 77, passed away Saturday morning, March 9, 2013, at her home.
Born on July 23, 1935, in Morgantown, W.Va., Joanne was the daughter of the late Paul and Florabelle McCrobie Hewitt.
Following her graduation from high school she went on to marry her sweetheart Ronald A. Brown on Sept. 3, 1955, and with him they would share more than 53 years of marriage and their five children.

Mrs. Brown was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Howland where she had taught special classes on Sundays. She loved her family and had enjoyed being a devoted mom, grandma and great-grandma while spending time with them.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert (Felicia) Brown of Hubbard and by Kenneth (Nancy) Brown of Kent; three daughters, Carrie Baker of Brookfield, Kim (Randy) Brant of Hubbard, and by Lori Johnson and her fiance Greg Hinchman of Kinsman; 10 grandchildren, Shelby Dukes, Corey Baker, Joshua Brown, Deanna (Joe) Slifka, Adam (Jessica) Brant, Rachael Brant, Neal Brant, Alex Brown, Abby (EJ) Brannon and Chelsea Johnson; five great-granchildren, Aaron and Marlana Dukes, Isabella Slifka, Zoey and Brody Brannon; and by her 11 sisters.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; her grandson, Cody Johnson; her great-granddaughter, Sophia Slifka; and by her brother Paul Hewitt
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 beginning at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Howland with the Rev. Jerry Croyts officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the start of the services at the church.
Entombment will follow in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
