WARREN - Melvin Gunther, 72, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Melvin was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Warren, the son of John and Pearl Grayer Gunther.
Melvin retired from General Motors. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Warren.

Survivors include eight children, Ada Gunther of Warren, Kimberly Gunther of Niles, Lavette Robison of Warren, Gary Gunther of Warren, Nicole Dawson of Texas, Tiffany Wilson of Youngstown, Melanie Beaver of Atlanta and Marquetta Williams of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Deloris Pearson, Valerie Gunther and JoAnn Richardson, all of Warren; his ex-wife, Shirley Gunther; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Friendship Baptist Church in Warren, where friends may call one hour before the service. Melvin's family also will receive friends at the home of Lavette Robison, 1150 Youngstown Road, Warren, OH 44484.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren.
