EBRO, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol says it misidentified the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal crash Saturday. Courtney Miller, 21, of Niles, was the driver, the patrol said Wednesday.

The crash also killed Brittney Gallagher, 21, of Willoughby, who originally was identified as the driver. Troopers said she was the front-seat passenger. Both Miller and Gallagher were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers in the back seat - Diana Mitchell of Solon, Okla., and Lauren Kane of Wil-loughby, were hospitalized and remain in critical condition.

The four Ohio State University students were returning from spring break in the Florida Panhandle.

Troopers now say that Miller was at the wheel of a 2000 Dodge four-door car Saturday morning near Ebro when she drifted into opposing traffic. She tried to correct the problem but crossed into the path of a pickup truck, colliding head-on, troopers said.

Truck driver Kelly Porter, 26, of Stillwater, Okla., and three of his passengers also were hospitalized in serious condition. His other passenger was hospitalized with minor injuries. All were from Oklahoma.

Authorities say alcohol wasn't a factor in the crash.

Miller, the daughter of Robert E. and Lisa M. Lambert Miller Jr., was scheduled to receive her bachelor's degree in education this May from The Ohio State University, and then planned to get her doctorate in education from Youngstown State University, according to a family friend.

She was a 2009 graduate of Niles McKinley High School.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church of Niles. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren.
