Three girls were injured in a Route 11 southbound over, four tractor-trailers jack-knifed on I-80 eastbound, and cars became stuck on I-80 westbound as wintry conditions plagued motorists from Wednesday night through Thursday morning.
Rescue workers had to extricate three teens trapped inside a Jeep Liberty that rolled over on Route 11, near Mahoning Avenue, around 8 p.m. Wednesday. All of the injuries are minor, according to reports.
I-80 eastbound was closed for about five hours between Route 62 in Hubbard and Exit 15 in Pennsylvania as crews cleared the four jack-knifed trucks beginning around midnight.
I-80 westbound traffic backed up for miles just east of the Ohio line when cars could not traverse a hill on the icy road around 2 a.m.
All roadways are now reported clear.
