WARREN - The woman who reported discovering a murdered man's body at his Second Street home Monday night told a city dispatcher that when she arrived at the house she found the door open and the man lying in the living room.

Warren Police Lt. Jeff Cole said investigators do not know the identity of the woman or why she was at the house.

The caller, whose voice can be heard on a 911 recording, told the dispatcher she was a "friend of a friend" and that she did not know the address or the man.

Warren police found the body of Rodney Fletcher, 45, at his residence at 423 Second St. S.W. just before 11 p.m. Fletcher died from a gunshot wound to the neck, according to the Trumbull County Coroner's Office.

His shooting is being investigated as the city's second homicide of the year. Cory Blackwell was fatally shot Jan. 1 at the former Sunset Lounge on East Market Street.

No arrests have been made in either case.

According to court records and Tribune Chronicle archives, Fletcher was convicted five times of felony cocaine possession between 2001 and 2009, and was sentenced to between six months and two years in prison.

In 1997, he was sentenced to 11 months in prison after being convicted of cocaine trafficking. In 1994, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault.

The caller who reported finding Fletcher initially told the dispatcher she was "just driving along," but later said she "was going over his house with somebody."

The female caller and another woman can be heard on the recording along with the dispatcher. Police have not identified either woman.
