WARREN - Helen B. Stefanko, 88, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013.
Helen was born March 28, 1924, in West Leisenrig, Pa., the daughter of Thomas and Catherine Hudock.
Helen came to Warren in 1950 and retired in 1986 from Warren City School system after working in the cafeteria for 25 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish (St. James Church). Helen enjoyed shopping, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her time at Easter Seals Adult Day Center.

She is survived by her husband, Paul J. Stefanko, whom she married June 12, 1948; two daughters, Cindy Rowland of Warren and Paulette (Joseph) Kubicina of Cortland; a daughter-in-law, Carol Stefanko of Largo, Fla.; a granddaughter, Jennifer Stefanko; and a sister, Irene Gorol of Uniontown, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lawrence "Larry" Stefanko; a grandson, Christopher Coldewey; seven brothers, Mike, Joe, Andy, John, Thomas, Steve and Adam Hudock; five sisters, Ann Wardzella, Mary Zerecheck, Margaret Bozak, Kathryn Shoby and Vernie McCune; and a son-in-law, Robert Rowland.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church) with the Rev. James P. Walker officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
