AUSTINTOWN - The school board has passed a resolution to rescind the purchase agreement of the former middle school after the buyer, LRC Realty, decided not to execute the real estate purchase agreement.
The nearly 15-acre property was sold to LRC on April 24. Austintown Superintendent Vincent Colaluca said the school "has made several attempts to finalize the situation acting with diligence on behalf of the community."
He said the school board feels that this resolution is in the best interest of the school district and community.
The BOE has had other inquiries regarding the purchase the former Austintown Middle School, officials said.
The school board will be accepting offers for the property at 5800 Mahoning Ave. For more information about that, contact Mal Culp, Supervisor of Facilities and Operations 330-797-3900, Ext. 2110.
