WARREN - A 23-year-old Liberty Township woman was sentenced to three years behind bars today for breaking her young son's legs more than a year ago.
Megan Grubb of Marla Lane first told Common Pleas Judge Ronald Rice that she didn't know how the injuries occurred. Then, she blamed the two broken legs on the child using his "bouncer" or "jumper" March 25, 2012.
Marcel "Marc" Grubb - who was 6-months-old at the time - was taken to Northside Medical Center in Youngstown and then the Boardman branch of Akron Children's Hospital after the mother said she noticed swelling on one of the child's knees.
She pleaded guilty earlier to a bill of information charging her with child endangering and misdemeanor assault and remained free on bond until today's sentencing.
