YOUNGSTOWN - A juvenile who police believe is one of two people who robbed several Youngstown State University students at gunpoint near campus the past several weeks was arrested today.
Police have not released the name of the 17-year-old boy pending changes.
Police said they executed a search warrant about 10 a.m. today at 261 Norwood and found the boy inside the home.
They said they also found two handguns, clothing, narcotics, drug paraphernalia, cell phones and a shell casing all believed to be involved in the robberies.
Most recently, two people, including one YSU student, were robbed at gunpoint early Monday in the 200 block of Alameda Avenue near the YSU campus on the city's North Side.
The gunmen have been described as teenagers, about 16 or 17 years of age. Witnesses said they were wearing black and red bandannas.
Police said all robberies took place between 9 pm.. and 2:30 a.m. in the same area on the North Side.
