ORLANDO, Fla. - Eva Lucas mother, grandmother, aunt and great-aunt died peacefully at 11:19 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, in Orlando, Fla., in the loving care of her eldest daughter, Niki.
Eva was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Warren, the third of four daughters of Eli and Veronica Ghiorghin Morrison.
Eva graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1948, and after graduation, worked at Duchess Candy Shop (which is now Daffin's), and then was employed at Ohio Lamp, where she worked until 1964.
An exceptional baker, cook, wife and mother, Eva delighted in making homemade specialties for her family.
She enjoyed traveling and cherished attending sporting and musical events that her children and grandchildren participated in. She loved cheering for the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes.
Eva is survived by four children, two sons, John R. (Brenda) Lucas of Bristolville and Robert D. (Janice) Lucas of Portland, Ore.; and two daughters, Nicollete M. Lucas of Orlando and Rachel A. (Frederick) Motomal of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jessica Lucas of Bristolville, Kaleigh Lucas of Portland, Ore., Veronica Motomal of Tampa, and Julia Motomal of Tampa; and three sisters, Mary Codrea of Akron, Elizabeth Popa of Oceanside, Calif., and Melvina McCormick of Warren.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, John, whom she married Sept. 16, 1961; her parents; and her brother, Nick E. Morrison.
Private services were previously held by arrangement with Roberts-Clark Chapel.
Her family said, ''Eva Lucas was dearly treasured by her family and friends. Eva's laughter, kind heart, gentle spirit, and tenacious love and faithfulness to her family echo in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is deeply loved and greatly missed, and our hearts ache to see her smile again. Te iubesc.''
In lieu of flowers, Eva Lucas requested that all donations be made to the American Lung Association or the Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church of Warren.
