GIRARD - Mitchell Capperes Sr., 87, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Heritage Manor.
Mitchell was born Oct. 28, 1925, in Youngstown, the son of John and Anna Mazur Capperes.
He worked at U.S. Steel McDonald Works, where he was an electrician.
Mitchell was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of St. Rose Church.
Survivors include his son, Mitchell Capperes Jr. of Hubbard; three daughters, Ann Smith of Lorain, Sue Sabino of Brookfield and Marilyn Merriam of Kentucky; two brothers, Nick Cooper and Pete Cooper, both of Youngstown; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his wife, Philomena Carson Capperes, a granddaughter and a sister.
Private services were held. Arrangements are entrusted to McVean, Hughes and McClurkin Funeral Home.
