GIRARD - Elmer J. Lovas, 92, of Girard, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 25, 1921, in Girard, the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Nagy Lovas.
Elmer retired as a productions engineer manager for Commercial Shearing and Intertech. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of St. Rose Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Helen Ryan; two daughters, Gail Anderson of Murrysville, Pa., and Bonnie Malandro of Girard; a brother, George Lovas of Mineral Ridge; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Rose Church, preceded by an 11 a.m. prayer service at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Girard City Cemetery with military honors.
