YOUNGSTOWN - Fredrick McLean, 69, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013.
He was born Aug. 30, 1944, in Lordstown, the son of Sidney P. McLean and Emma Mason.
He was a graduate of Lordstown High School and worked as a crane operator for Copperweld Steel and V&M Star before retiring in 2007. He was also Realtor for ERA Tri-Sun Realty.
Frederick was a member of the Knights of Pythias in North Jackson, New Middletown Farmers and Sportsmens Club, and was an avid outdoorsman, bow hunter, fisherman and master gardener.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Mary Jo Wilson, whom he married May 15, 2002; a son, Shawn F. McLean of Vienna; a daughter, Shannon Martrich of Florida; a brother, Sidney (Sandra) McLean of Lordstown; five grandchildren, Ava and Gia McLean, Elijah Henderson, and Nevan and Nigel Martrich; and his beloved dog, Jack.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather, Albert Como; and two brothers, David McLean and Frank "Butch" McLean.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home Inc. in Youngstown. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Angels for Animals.
