DONATING HAIR FOR CAUSE: The Trumbull Career and Technical Center in Champion will hold a Wigs for Kids event from 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday for anyone willing to donate their hair to Wigs for Kids, a nonprofit organization that gets wigs for children who have lost their hair due to medical circumstances such as chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The students in Rosalyn Gault's cosmetology class will cut hair for free.
Hair must be 10 inches long to donate. Hair also may not be colored, chemically treated or more than 10 percent gray.

PEARL HARBOR EVENT: Lt. Frederick Kahn of VFW Post 1423 will speak at the Pearl Harbor remembrance 10:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Staniuslaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave, Youngstown. Veterans posts are to assemble at 10 a.m. in the church hall with their colors.
SANTA TO VISIT: Southington Community Christmas Tree Lighting at the gazebo will include a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at the fire station. The Chalker High School Choir will perform.
CHURCH HOSTS HOLIDAY EVENT: The Girard First United Methodist Church, corner of Market and Main streets, will hold a Holiday Extravaganza from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. There will be live music, entertainment, desserts, live and silent auctions, and Santa workshops for children.

GRIEF SUPPORT OFFERED: The Hubbard Church of the Nazarene will hold a time of remembrance for those who have lost a child at any age from any reason at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. There will be a service of compassion at 6:30 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. candlelighting ceremony.
The candlelighting will be held around the globe in conjunction with The Compassionate Friends International services, effectively holding a 24-hour lighting vigil in remembrance of children who have died. Individuals can bring a framed picture of a child to be displayed at the service.
