WARREN -- City police have identified a teenager wounded in a Sunday night shooting outside at a local beverage store.
Police arrived at Atlantic Beverage, 208 Atlantic St. N.E., Warren, around 7:45 p.m. after receiving reports that someone had been shot in the arm, according to a Warren police report.
When officers arrived they located Shane Stein, 17, beside a van in the west side parking lot with several other people, reports state.
Police at the scene indicated Stein is from Pennsylvania. However, the police report lists an Atlantic Street N.W., Warren address for him.
Police reported that Stein's left elbow had a bullet wound. He was transported by ambulance to Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Trumbull Memorial Hospital Sunday. His injuries were described as not life-threatening.
Police said they were reviewing video footage obtained from the business surveillance camera.
The police report indicated there may have been an aggravated robbery, but it did not specify whether they believe the incident took place inside the business, or outside.
However, police at the scene on Sunday said a man described as ``short, black, wearing a gray hoodie'' attempted to rob Stein in the parking lot. The shooter ran away on foot heading south on Vine Avenue N.E., according to police scanner traffic.
Police in the area saw a man matching the description running in the area and set up a perimeter, but the man eluded police. Officers recovered at least one shell casing near the scene.
Detectives were called in and officers were questioning witnesses and the victim at the hospital Sunday evening.
No one had been arrested as of this morning.
