MIDDLEFIELD - Arlene B. Gibbs, 79, of Middlefield, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at her residence with her family by her side.
Arlene was born Jan. 17, 1934, in Middlefield, the daughter of Paul W. and Irene Adams Boorn.
A lifelong resident of Middlefield, she graduated from Middlefield High School in 1951 and soon after married Carl D. Gibbs on June 24, 1951, in the First United Methodist Church of Middlefield.
Arlene was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling and fishing.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Clover Chapter 201 Order of the Eastern Stars, the Middlefield Historical Society and the Geauga County Camp Gideons International.
She is "together again" with her beloved husband, Carl, who was the love of her life, and she will be missed by her friends and family.
Arlene is survived by her two sons, Darell (Joyce) Gibbs of Dempsytown, Pa., and Gregory (Roxanne) Gibbs of Port Orford, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, on Aug. 25, 2013; her parents, Paul and Irene Boorn; and grandparents, Frank and Blanche Boorn and William and Cora Adams.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, 14999 S. State Ave., Middlefield.
Inurnment will be at Middlefield Cemetery
