LIBERTY 54, BEAVER LOCAL 34: LIBERTY - Thanks to a 28-point performance from Leah Leshnack, the Leopards pulled away from the Beavers in a non-conference matchup.
Leshnack scored 16 points in the first half as Liberty (7-2) took a 10-point lead into halftime. She added another seven in the third quarter, and then Amy Mikulich helped the Leopards see out the game in the fourth quarter, going for seven of her 12 points in the final 8 minutes.
Jade Favre and Tannar Dolhun paced Beaver Local (2-4) with 11 points each.
BOARDMAN 44, JACKSON 37: MASSILLON - The Spartans earned their first Federal League win of the season on road against the Polar Bears.
Down two at halftime, Boardman (2-5, 1-2) outscored Jackson 15-9 in th third and 9-6 in the fourth to comeback and eventually see out the win. Kelly Tomcsanyi led the way with 17 points for the Spartans, who shot 47 percent from the field.
Jackson (3-4, 1-3) struggled the field, meanwhile, posting 27 percent from the field and 23 percent from beyond the arc.
GIRARD 68, CHAMPION 52: CHAMPION - The Dykes duo led Girard past Champion in an All-American Conference, National Division game.
Alasjia Dykes led all scorers with 19 points, while Shymara Dykes posted a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Ali Ciminiero added 11 points in the win.
Izzy D'Urso paced the Golden Flashes with 16 points in the losing effort.
URSULINE 47, CARDINAL MOONEY 39: YOUNGSTOWN - A big second half was the reason the Fighting Irish were able to defeat the Cardinals in the girls basketball version of the Holy War on Wednesday night.
Ursuline held a slim, one-point lead at halftime, but came firing out of the gates in the second half, outscoring Cardinal Mooney, 21-14.
Ursuline's Tanaya Beacham scored 15 of her game-high 18 points in the second half. She also grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds for the double-double. Ursuline is now 3-4 on the year.
Jaclyn Yankle led Cardinal Mooney (4-2) with 17 points. Jamie DiDomenico added 12.
