YOUNGSTOWN - The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will present "Memories of Christmas Past: Christmastime in the City" through Sunday at the Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave.
The vintage holiday decorations display offers 15 exhibits including one of downtown Youngstown's storefronts at the holidays.
Anthony Worrellia, who created and designed the Memories of Christmas Past, set up the Christmas in the City display to recreate the familiar holiday streetscape in Youngstown of the past.
"We wanted to create a nostalgic display of the stores of Youngstown's past,'' he said noting the exhibit includes some of the toys and boxes from Woolworth, Strouss, and McKelveys. It includes vintage decorations from more than 15 local Christmas collectors.
Worrellia has an extensive background in creative direction and graphic design. His passion for the display is the way his mother decorated their home ever year during the holidays, he said.
Pamela Querin Hassman, a feelance artist and designer, also worked on the exhibits for the holidays.
Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Friday to Sunday and 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Museum is closed on holidays. Call 330-743-2589.
