WARREN - The YMCA of Warren is offering swim lessons. The YMCA has two swimming pools offering swim classes for infants six months to adults. Swim classes are taught in the warmer pool, which is smaller and more private.
Patricia King, a swim instructor, said swim lessons are offered each month on Monday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Sessions are full for this month but signups for February start Jan. 20. She said there are classes for beginners to advanced for babies six moths to 26 months, age 6 and older, and age 15 older. There is a fee for members and nonmembers.
Officials at the YMCA indicated it is never too late to learn to swim.
A popular class is "You and Me Baby," which is for babies and their moms, or in some cases dads or even grandparents. The program helps babies get used to the water.
The YMCA also offers water fitness classes which are free to members and include Adventure Aqua Flex, Aqua Fit, H20 Fit, Silver Splash, and water volleyball.
